Not a Routine Day for MSP Troopers

LINCOLN PARK, MI – Troopers from Metro South conducted a traffic stop on a possible narcotics suspect. One of the troopers started to feel lightheaded, nauseous and unsteady on his feet after searching a suspect.

His partner noticed his behavior and started first aid.

He recognized that this was a possible fentanyl or cocaine overdose. He administered two doses of Narcan from the kit in his patrol car. The trooper was transported by EMS to a local hospital where he is going to be fine.

Troopers and members of the Downriver Area Narcotics Organization (DRANO) then executed a search warrant on the 800 block of Capitol in Lincoln Park. Officers recovered narcotics and two firearms. The suspect was arrested on those offenses and some outstanding warrants.
